The Milton Keynes UTA (GB) Open Poomsae Championships is almost here, just 24 hours to go. I am really pleased with the turn out. We have 28 clubs attending in all with participants from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Republic of Ireland, Spain and Sicily. The competition is going from strength to strength with almost 200 players. Our judging co-ordinator will be Grandmaster Shin who has previously been rated as one of the best in the world. Amongst our judges we have 3 international judges, including Master Abilio from Portugal who has judged at the World Championships and is currently National Coach for the Portuguese Federation.

I am delighted also that we will be welcoming Emma Elmes from Silver Dragons, a professional Martial Arts demonstrator who holds several world championship titles to her name. She will be doing a demonstration for us at approximately 1.30pm. I really recommend that you come and see her and tell your friends too! Thank you for your support of this year's Milton Keynes UTA (GB) Open Poomsae Championships. Please find on right a draft player lists for each of the three divisions as well as the compulsory poomsaes required.

I would be grateful if you could check through to see if you and your players have been entered into the correct categories and let me know if you have any problems. If you have any questions please also do not have any hesitation in contacting me.

The timetable and judges' schedules will be distributed soon. I have attached the judges' policy for the event and would be grateful if all judges could take a few minutes to read through this before the competition.

I am delighted to inform you that the President of the Portuguese Taekwondo Federation, Prof. José Luís de Souza will be attending the Milton Keynes UTA (GB) Open Poomsae Championships 2010 on 8th May as our special guest. Prof. José Luís de Souza has been a supporter of Taekwondo in the UK for many years and his visit will continue to strengthen links between the two countries. It is an honour to be able to welcome him to Milton Keynes once again.

Following feedback on the new online registration process, we have made a few changes to make the process even quicker for those of you registering more than one player.

If you have not yet registered, there is still time but we are nearing our limit of 200 players, so please get your registration in as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointment.
